What principles can guide better decisions?

Sustainability decisions often involve trade offs, incomplete information, and impacts that aren't immediately visible. In this interactive workshop, we'll explore a few simple but powerful ways of approaching those decisions: look for connections, consider the whole picture, seek ways to make things better rather than simply less harmful, and involve the people who are part of the system. Through real-world scenarios and hands-on application, you'll practice using these principles to uncover trade offs, challenge assumptions, and explore better alternatives.

You'll leave with a set of practical questions you can continue using to evaluate choices and make more thoughtful sustainability decisions.

Meet your Panelist

Konrad Schlarbaum is a sustainability professional with more than a decade of experience helping organizations turn sustainability goals into practical action. He currently serves as a Green Business Specialist with the Colorado Green Business Network, where he works with businesses and organizations to identify opportunities to reduce environmental impacts, improve operations, and advance sustainability initiatives. Konrad holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sustainability and is an ISSP Sustainability Excellence Professional, LEED Green Associate, and certified in permaculture design. He is passionate about making sustainability approachable, practical, and empowering for people at all stages of their sustainability journey.
