Meet your presenters

Veda Woods

Veda Woods is a highly regarded cybersecurity executive with nearly three decades of experience in both public and private sectors. Her expertise includes cybersecurity, cyber risk management, digital governance, and threat intelligence oversight. Ms. Woods excels in deploying innovative technologies to create sophisticated cybersecurity strategies for highly regulated industries globally.

Ms. Woods founded the Global Cyber Security Advisory Group and serves as CEO. She is also the Founder and Board Chair of Protect Us Kids Foundation, combating online child sexual exploitation. Her career includes roles such as Executive Director and Global Head of Cyber, Technology, Information Security Risk, Threat Intelligence & Vulnerability Management Oversight at Morgan Stanley, and Director of Cybersecurity Strategy & Resilience at Capital One. Additionally, she served as Chief Information Security Officer and Deputy CIO at the U.S. Executive Office of the President, Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board.

Ms. Woods focuses on strategic cybersecurity governance and sustainability, safeguarding sectors like healthcare, finance, law enforcement, defense, and intelligence. Her approach integrates cyber risk oversight with privacy and risk governance frameworks, emphasizing individual rights and social good. Her contributions influence national and international cyber policies.

Dedicated to fostering diversity in STEM/STEAM fields and advocating for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability, Ms. Woods inspires advancements in cybersecurity practices, protecting vulnerable populations. She holds a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College.

Tatiana Bienvenu

Tatiana Bienvenu is an alumna of American University, where she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Legal Institutions, Economics, and Government (CLEG), with a research focus on environmental policy, and an MPA with a concentration in Public Financial Management and Cyber Policy. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in Business from American University’s Kogod School of Business. Tatiana’s multidisciplinary expertise spans financial management, sustainability policy, communications, and cybersecurity. Her background also includes linguistic research, with translation certificates in French and Russian.

Tatiana currently serves as the Manager of Operations at AU's Khan Cyber and Economic Security Institute, a pioneering entity at the forefront of cybersecurity education and research. Her work supports the Institute’s efforts to collaborate with university and external partners, driving interdisciplinary research, and leveraging AU’s strong foundation in inclusive technology policy.

Before her role at the Khan Institute, Tatiana served as the Financial Director at a local start-up nonprofit. Her previous experience also includes roles at Alliance Française de Washington, DC, the U.S. Department of State (Office of Language Services), the Embassy of France (Education Department), and US House of Representatives.

Gemma Pyne Bailey

Gemma Pyne Bailey is a cybersecurity expert dedicated to enhancing digital security across Africa. With a focus on uncovering and addressing security breaches, Gemma has played a key role in helping organizations protect their sensitive data from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

Working primarily in Sierra Leone, her efforts are comprehensive and impactful, from developing and implementing robust cybersecurity systems to leading innovative training programs that equip local teams with the skills needed to protect critical infrastructures. Gemma’s holistic approach to cybersecurity goes beyond technical solutions, fostering a culture of cybersecurity awareness throughout the nation.

Her dedication is evident in her work to inspire and mentor the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, building a community that is vigilant, informed, and ready to defend against cyber threats.

A well-rounded professional, Gemma's contributions are shaping the future of cybersecurity, making her a respected and influential figure in the global cybersecurity community.
