Working Session: Giving Nature a Voice in Governance through Legal Innovation
About the event
Humans are just one small part of the interconnected web of life, yet the legal system treats us as separate from Nature, leaving ecosystems and species without even the most basic rights. But this is beginning to change. “Earth Lawyer” Grant Wilson will take you on a journey through groundbreaking legal innovations that give Nature a formal voice in governance, from constitutional rights for ecosystems to bioregional governance and criminalizing "ecocide."
Building on his experience helping to establish the first-ever Board seat for Nature with the UK-based company Faith in Nature, Grant will also explore how businesses and communities are adopting innovative Earth-centered approaches to ensure long-term sustainability and resilience. Join this inspiring talk to explore how these transformative ideas are reshaping the law and reconnecting humanity to the larger community of life.
