About the event

As the urgency to meet climate goals intensifies, many organizations have relied on carbon offsets and supply chain measures to signal progress. Yet, these tactics often displace accountability rather than drive real emissions reductions. This session shifts the spotlight to Scope 1 emissions—those directly under an organization’s control. We’ll discuss why focusing on Scope 1 is both a critical climate action and a smart strategic choice for achieving meaningful, measurable sustainability. Attendees will walk away with practical insights and real-world examples to lead with integrity and move beyond performative climate efforts.

What you will learn

  • Differentiate between Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and understand their implications.
  • Recognize the limitations of offsets and indirect reduction strategies.
  • Identify practical actions to reduce Scope 1 emissions in their organization.
  • Develop a mindset of accountability around emissions reporting and sustainability claims.
